In Acts 2 the fact of Jesus Christ being a real person who performed great miracles was undisputed. Also, the fact that Jesus died by being crucified by the Roman soldiers was accepted.
Whether he rose from the dead, and what that means was the open to question.
Peter address the question of who is Jesus and how we need to respond to him in this the first gospel sermon from the empowered disciples.

Hebrews 3:1-6 Jesus, the builder of the house
Moses was great. Jesus was greater.
Moses was a faithful servant in God's house, but Jesus makes the house.
Just as the designer deserves much more recognition that the thing they designed so Jesus deserves the glory for being the architect of the church.
Moses was part of the building (the people of God). Jesus was the maker of the building
So, Christians then and now need to fix their thoughts on Jesus. To be courageous and bold and show they are part of the great building that brings Christ honour

1 Peter 2:4 to 10 - The Church of Christ (Building Thanksgiving Service)
For our thanksgiving service as we moved into our new building we thought about - what is the church and why is it here?
1. Christ's Church is a spiritual building – people, described as “living stones” built on Jesus Christ.
He makes the building possible and he defines the shape of the building.
2. Christ's church is there for Worship and Witness

Hebrews 2:5-18 Jesus redeems humanity
Buy one get one free… good.
Fat free…good (apart from perhaps the taste)
But what are Christians talking about when they talk about being set free?
Freedom from what?
How are not free?
The writer of Hebrews continues in his flow, focussing his readers attention on the deity of Jesus Christ, to talk about the astonishing reality of the complete humanity of Christ!
We can see, as the writer transitions from the highest of heights of the glory of the eternal Son, to the humility as he became fully human, to set us free from the fear of death.
We see the incredible association Jesus makes with his brothers, as He takes on the role of the perfect pioneer, and the perfect high priest and all as the perfect man!
