1 Peter 2:11 to 25 - The sacrifice of submission

Christians are supposed to look different. Not in their dress or customs, but in a radically different lifestyle from the people around them. They are called, as we Christians are called, to Live such good lives

- in society (For the Lord's sake)
- in the workplace (out of reverence for Christ)
- following the example of Christ

Hebrews 3:7-19 - Warning: Don't Harden Your Heart

There is a danger, even for people who have experienced to some degree the salvation from God, that as life goes on they stop believing, or perhaps more correctly, it becomes clear they were never really trusting God’s word first place.
It’s just what happened to God’s people in the Old Testament. They were saved from slavery but they stopped really trusting the word of God.
We need to watch out for ourselves and for others, encouraging us all to make sure we don’t do the same.

All-Age - God knows everything

At our all age service we looked at two more basic questions about God:
Can you see God?No, I cannot see God, but he always sees me
Does God know all things?
Yes, nothing can be hidden from God

We thought about the extent of the knowledge of God that it was comprehensive and did not require any learning on God’s part. It means he knows us completely, which in some ways is a great comfort but in other ways it frightens us. God knows all our secrets.
Thank God that knowing us, he still sent His one and only Son to die for people just like us so that we can know him, and spend our lives and eternity getting to know him better.

Mark 10:45 Verse of the year 2011 Part 2 - the ransom

How can self-centred people serve others?

The sacrificial death of Jesus is the way we are set free from our sin but is also the great motivation and example for us that we should serve, willingly, sacrificially, even if it involves suffering.
